3D Models look AMAZING on your SplashTiles screens! SplashTiles offers several options for adding and animating 3D Models and even full WebGL apps.
Clara.io:
SplashTiles has advanced integration with Clara.io using our "3d Model" tile. Simply find the model you want on Clara.io, then copy the "Scene ID" (the numbers at the end of the URL when viewing the model) from the model into Param1 of our tile.
Animation:
The Animation builder in Clara.io allows you to create ANY type of movement or behavior. Please see their tutorial videos for full details.
SplashTiles will automatically loop any animation saved on your 3D model.
SplashTiles will use the FIRST camera defined on your model (animated or static). For best results only have 1 camera defined.
Please note that not all imported animations work properly. The best method is to create your own animation using the online tools.
SplashTiles Camera controls:
If you don't want to create Animations yourself, you can just use our built in animation options. SPINX, SPINY: Spin the model on the X or Y axis TWISTX, TWISTY: The model will rotate back and forth on the X or Y axis MOVEX, MOVEY: The model will move across the tile on the X or Y axis DRUNKX, DRUNKY: The model will weave across the tile on the X or Y axis ZOOM: The camera will zoom in and out
You can optionally add scaling parameters to the above commands (usually between -1.0 to 1.0). You can also combine commands using commas.
Please note that Camera controls should not be used in conjuction with Animations.
SketchFab.com:
SketchFab is the largest online site for 3D models. Simply go to SketchFab.com, select a model, click the "Embed" link, then copy the src="COPYME" section and paste this into Param1 of our "External" tile.
The only downside is SketchFab does not allow TRANSPARENT embedding on free accounts. However, you can often accomplish this by exporting the model from Sketchfab and then importing it to Clara.io (and embed using the above instructions).
SplashTiles WebGL apps
SplashTiles has many WebGL apps already built in! You can access these directly as the background apps for your screens. You can also embed them as a tile using the "external" tile. Just select an app from the list below and copy the URL given for either solid or transparent backgrounds.
External WebGL apps
SplashTiles supports external WebGL apps also!
Just select the "External" tile and paste the URL for the WebGL app into param1. Param2 should be 0. Param3 can be set to 1 if you will use this on a computer or tablet. You can also use these as background apps with the "external" option.
