SplashTiles Alexa Skill
SplashTiles Alexa control
Alexa can control all your SplashTiles linked devices!
- First enable the SplashTiles skill on your Alexa account. Make sure the Amazon account linked to your Alexa uses the SAME EMAIL as your SplashTiles Cloud account.
- In your SplashTiles account, name all your devices and screens. Use simple names that are easy to say and remember.
- "Alexa, discover devices"
- All of the Devices on your account will now be Smart Home devices in Alexa. You can control them directly, or add them to Alexa groups or scenes using the Alexa app.
- To watch full screen
- "Alexa, set screen to NAME on DEVICE"
- "Alexa, set screen on DEVICE to NAME"
- "Alexa, set screen to NAME" (if you have configured an Alexa group for this room)
- NAME = screen name, DEVICE = device name (as configured in your SplashTiles cloud account)
- Use NAME = Off to exit SplashTiles. Use DEVICE = Everywhere to control all devices at once
- To watch PIP
- "Alexa, set PIP to NAME on DEVICE"
- "Alexa, set PIP on DEVICE to NAME"
- "Alexa, set PIP to NAME" (if you have configured an Alexa group for this room)
- NAME = screen name, DEVICE = device name (as configured in your SplashTiles cloud account)
- Use NAME = Off to close PIP window. Use DEVICE = Everywhere to control all devices at once
- To run a SplashTiles script
- "Alexa, set script to NAME"
- NAME = script name
- To turn on and off the TV using IRUSB
- "Alexa, turn on DEVICE"
- "Alexa, turn off DEVICE"
- "Alexa, turn on/off TV" (if you have configured an Alexa group for this room)
- DEVICE = device name (as configured in your SplashTiles cloud account)
- Use DEVICE = Everywhere to control all devices at once
Alexa Groups:
If you use the Alexa app to create "Groups" for each room in your house, you don't have to remember your device names!
In the Alexa app, under devices select add/create group. Then just follow the steps. Every room should have an Alexa device, and also your SplashTiles device for that room.
