Power saving options
SplashTiles offers several methods for making sure your digital displays only consume power when they are being enjoyed.
-
Screen Saver Mode:
The easiest method is to use SplashTiles as your Screen Saver on your Android devices! Just goto settings and select SplashTiles as your screen saver, then select which custom screen to use. You can also configure the automatic "sleep" time to turn off the device (and attached CEC TV) after a set time. For more details, see our documentation.
-
Scheduling:
Our easy drag and drop script builder allows you to schedule when your devices are used.
For example, you can quickly
create a weekly schedule that turns on your TV when you get up in the morning and shows you your morning commute information. Once you leave for work, it will turn off your TV. Turn on again in the evening when you return to show you your nightly entertainment options. Turn off at bedtime.
Create your script, a single command to run it, and you are done!
-
Geo-fencing:
Geo-fencing allows you to control your SplashTiles devices based on the location of your mobile phone. You can trigger all your TVs to turn off when you leave the home, and back on when you return.
It is also a good idea to add a schedule condition so your devices stay off at night (since your phone is home then).
IFTTT integration is the best way to add Geo-fencing to your SplashTiles system. Please see our video tutorial.
-
Home automation integration:
SplashTiles works with your existing Home Automation system. Your current remotes, apps, and macros can now control your TVs as well.
Alexa, Control4, RTI, IFTTT, and many more are directly supported. Any other system can be integrated using our public API.
-
Device power control:
When using at TV display device, SplashTiles will control turning the TV on and off. This control is either via CEC (on supported models) or via IR (using our IRUSB device).
When using tablets, the tablet screen power state is also automatically controlled by SplashTiles. The screen will be ON while displaying your SplashTiles pages, otherwise the screen to turn off. No manual interaction needed!
